A 12-WEEK JOURNEY OF SELF-ACCEPTANCE
This Class Program is Created and Designed for Women and the Growing Sisterhood of Rising Feminine.
You've done it all, right? You've experienced your share of elaborate diet and food plans, counted calories, measured, weighed, restricted, obsessively tracked, calculated every bite, participated in rigid exercise routines, and stepped on the scale every morning or maybe multiple times a day. You struggle with weight and body image, refusing to accept and tend to reject many parts of yourself. At some level you believe there is something "wrong" with you and that if you were just thinner you'd be happy. You detest your imperfect body and often judge it. You have bins of clothes of various sizes hoping to fit into them again. You have moments when you can't stand to be in your own skin and feel ashamed of your body and try to hide it. You compare yourself to other women and perhaps decline invitations to social events because of fear. You may go, but look through your closet first for the perfect outfit that will make you look thinner and hide your unwanted and unacceptable parts. You can’t look in the mirror without thinking something negative and you equate your self-worth with the number on the scale, the size clothes you wear, and your inability to stop the war between food and fat. You've thought, if I could just change this thing about myself, then I will be okay.
You don't need to be better or different from what you are to be okay, worthy, or adequate.
- Mary O'Malley
This isn't the type of program where I promise you'll lose weight. In fact, it's not about weight-loss at all. It's an invitation to accept all of your experiences without judgement, giving you the comfort and freedom to be yourself so you can truly feel at home in your life. It is an invitation for you to learn how to truly nourish you mind, body, and spirit.
HEARTHOME is a program that invites you to let go of old ways of doing, clearing out and dissolving lifelong programming, definitions, and beliefs about who you "should" be and what you "should" look like. It is a pathway for you to journey in recognition and acceptance of yourself. To be comfortable in your own skin, in your own unique and beautiful body, in a true sense of home.

WHAT WOMEN ARE SAYING ABOUT HEARTHOME
"What a privilege it was to be part of this amazing circle of women! I knew after the first meeting that this was not going to be just any ordinary program! With Eating in the Light of the Moon, we went on an exciting journey into our souls to uncover the truth of who we are and in the process formed a deep connection with each other…a very special sisterhood! It ended up being a transformative celebration of the divine feminine within ourselves.
The book itself is wonderful and thought-provoking and well worth reading more than once. But no amount of self-study could come close to what we experienced with Shauna’s leadership and guidance. Shauna has the skills to ask all the right questions. We literally got personal coaching sessions each time we met! Add to that the valuable insight we shared and received with each other – a recipe for validation and deep healing. I knew I would have a great experience, but I was blown away by the discoveries I made about myself.
This book is not just about food. It is about how we nourish (or do not nourish) ourselves in our lives and to what extent we are connected to our own personal truths and to the powerful divine feminine within us. The work we did as we met every week slowly unveiled to each of us what our patterns were and how we might break free and move forward to a more authentic place. There were so many Aha moments!! Shauna’s dedication to this journey within herself and within us came through as we explored topics such as assertiveness, sexuality, the great mother archetype, the shadow self, expression/suppression of feelings, intuition…. the list goes on. The power of group exploration and healing was profound. The connections we made with each other within our discoveries will last forever.
I know I am still a work in progress (as we all are), but this experience left me with new skills, valuable tools and transformative knowledge that I will return to over and over again as I continue my journey forward." - I.B.

"I loved being a participant in Shauna's HEARTHOME Program for "Eating in the Light of the Moon". Having someone to facilitate and moderate the discussion expanded the learning opportunities contained within these pages already chock full of wisdom. Not only were the assigned pondering questions helpful and insightful, but being part of a collaborative effort with other like minded women allowed me to see things from different perspectives, which was very valuable. I loved gathering with these women every week and being part of a feminine think tank. I'm looking forward to our final session this coming Thursday, but am also feeling a little sad that it's ending. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested in taking a deeper dive into the hows and whys of disordered eating. I would rejoin this circle in a heartbeat, should it ever be offered again in the future." - C.S.
"I am so grateful for Shauna and the women I bonded with in HEARTHOME. During our discussions, I learned that I am not alone and that I am perfect the way that I am. The book was a considerable choice that led to many deep and meaningful conversations. Shauna created a safe and supportive environment for us to all come together and work on our journeys. I was able to be vulnerable in group without my typical fears and self judgements.
I have learned to listen to what it is that I need and I’m learning how to be more assertive when asking for what I need. This book and class program has been empowering. I am learning to speak my truth. Without the support of these women and the wisdom of Eating in the Light of the Moon, I might still be silencing my voice and stuck in a toxic job. Because of what I learned about myself during this program, I was able to submit a letter of resignation and begin a new chapter of my life.
I have also learned the power of curiosity. A big take away from this experience is to be curious with my feelings and to do it without judgement. I would 100% recommend HEARTHOME for any woman on a journey to rediscover and embrace the feminine. I look forward to continuing my journey with this new understanding of myself." - T.D.

Some Key Highlights of HEARTHOME:
|
Within the history of the Patriarchy a woman's body didn't belong to her. It belonged to her husband. Over time women learned to hate their bodies and despise their cycles because the experience of her body had been immersed in shame.
The patriarchal system has separated women from their bodies and erased their cycles, declaring women's bodies unclean.

A WOMAN'S POWER RESIDES IN HER BODY.

WE WILL BE MOVING THROUGH EATING IN THE LIGHT OF THE MOON, READING THREE CHAPTERS AT A TIME IN PREPARTATION FOR EACH CLASS. PLEASE BORROW OR PURCHASE A COPY FAR ENOUGH IN ADVANCE OF OUR FIRST SESSION.
THE TWO BOOKS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE PROGRAM.
In her book, Eating in the Light of the Moon, Anita Johnston talks about two containers a woman carries on her journey through life. (Chapter 17, Nourishment) One container is gourd-shaped for carrying food and water. The other container is heart-shaped for carrying all the things she needs to make her life meaningful and fulfilling. Over the course of eight weeks, I will introduce you to and lead you through new techniques, skills, and practices that will help you to discover what sustenance your heart center is hungry for, what nourishment you truly need. I will share with you an simple 4-step formula that cultivates present moment awareness, acceptance, compassion, and trust. I will show you ways to reconnect with the Mother archetype so you can learn how to more deeply and more truly love, accept, and nurture yourself. This is an opportunity for you to learn how to focus on the choices, actions, and behaviors that you know feed your soul and bring your heart contentment.
I'm kind of a life-long expert of diets, food plans, compulsive eating, binge eating, exercise routines, weight-loss, weight gain, hating myself, loving myself, and everything in between. There are photos I could have posted from any point in my life showing you my weight at the time. I opted to share just three.
Regardless of what I weighed at what age and at what stage of my life, the truth is I have always been good enough. And so have you.
Spring 2022. I don't know what I weighed because I broke up with my scale and I no longer allow a number to determine my worth, value, or happiness. Yes, eating a healthy diet is important! Yes, moving your body is important! But what is equally as important is understanding why you do the things you do with food. What is as important is shedding your conditioning about what it means to be a woman in today's society. What is equally important, is clearing out and dissolving beliefs and definitions based in negativity and limitation. To find clarity within yourself is to find true healing and acceptance. When you come to new levels of acceptance and truth about yourself, it becomes so much easier and simpler to choose the food you want or need to eat, then the idea of "weight loss" vanishes because you're body will naturally settle into the weight it was designed to be. Can you trust that? The weight is was designed to be.
For the Love of Statistics
95-98% OF ALL WEIGHT LOST IS GAINED BACK WITHIN A YEAR AND A HALF
95% OF PEOPLE DIAGNOSED WITH DISORDERED EATING ARE FEMALE
THE AVERAGE ACTRESS OR MODEL IS THINNER THAN 95% OF THE POPULATION
THE AVERAGE PERSON HAS BETWEEN 12,00-60,00 THOUGHTS PER DAY.
90-95% OF THOSE THOUGHTS ARE REPETATIVE.
80% OF THOSE THOUGHTS ARE NEGATIVE.
Sound familiar? Can you relate? This is a photo of a Valentine's Day card I gave my husband back in the 90's. I came across it while going through photos of our 34 year marriage and photos from my childhood. "Thinking" I've always been "fat", it became clear that yes, there were some years I found myself on the heavier side of life but for the most part I looked normal. A normal teenage girl, a normal young woman, a normal woman. Yet in my mind, in my beliefs and definitions, and in my programming, I was fat and broken and unacceptable. I needed to be fixed. I needed to be thinner. Like so many women, this is the experience of being female in our society today. We have banished our feminine spirit and have lived in a perpetual state of spiritual hunger. We have been taught to ignore our feminine voice and to stop listening to our feelings and intuitions. I'm not a fat woman. I am a beautiful and loving woman, a nurturing and compassionate woman, a woman of intellect and experience, a woman of wisdom. And yes, my physical body has some fat on it.
